This is arithmetic, not a verdict. It is the same sum anyone would do for a commute or a game, applied to something people usually never add up. Some find the yearly figure smaller than they expected; some find it larger. Either way you now hold a quantity instead of a feeling, and a quantity is a much easier thing to decide about.

How many hours a week do people spend on porn?
We are not going to invent an average, and you should distrust any page that hands you one. The closest honest figure we can point at is narrow: in the treatment-seeking group of 266 people behind the PPCS-6 screen, the reported use was six to seven sessions a week at about 48 minutes each, which is roughly five hours. That is one self-selected group of people who had gone looking for help, not a population average, and it is not you. Use your own number.
Why is a day sixteen hours here?
Because a day you slept through is not a day you could have spent on anything else. Sixteen waking hours is the plain convention for that, and the page says so on the line itself, so you can redo the division with your own figure if you sleep differently.
How accurate is this calculator?
It is exactly as accurate as the figure you typed, and no more. If your estimate is a third out, every line of the answer is a third out. An estimate, not a measurement.
