1. Who can use Unhooked

The App is rated 17+ and is intended for adults. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 18, to use it or to buy anything in it.

2. What Unhooked is, and what it is not

Unhooked is a self-tracking and self-help tool for people who have decided to stop using porn. It records what you tell it, shows you milestones drawn from published research, and offers on-device techniques for hard moments.

It is not therapy, not crisis care, not a diagnosis and not a medical device. Nothing in the App is medical advice, and no part of it is tailored to your health. The milestones and the recovery map describe general findings from research on groups of people, with their sources shown or plainly labelled as reported experience — they are not a prediction about your body or your mind, and no timeline in the App is a promise.

Talk to a doctor or a qualified professional if you are struggling, and especially if you have a mental-health condition, are taking medication, or notice symptoms that worry you. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.

3. Your data stays on your device

Everything you log in the App — your start date and the line you wrote, every slip, check-in, urge and weekly reflection, your milestones and your settings — is written to your device and stays there. We hold no copy. We cannot read it, cannot restore it and cannot hand it to anyone, because it never reaches us.

That cuts both ways. If you delete the App, wipe the phone or lose it, that data is gone for good. There is no server backup to fall back on and nothing we can recover for you.

Export and import are how you carry your record to a new phone: the App writes one file, you keep it, and you read it back in on the new device. Both are free and always will be — your own data is never held behind a purchase. Keeping that file safe is your responsibility; it is plain text, and anyone who opens it can read it.

Our Privacy Policy lists the only things that ever leave your device: anonymous counts of seven fixed events, and crash reports.

4. Intellectual property

4.1 Ownership

The App and the Website, including their content, design and features, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. What you write in the App is yours.

4.2 Your licence

While you comply with these terms we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, distribute, modify or build on it without our written consent.

5. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what the App and the Website collect and what they never touch. It is part of these terms.

6. Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase

6.1 What Unhooked Pro adds

Unhooked Pro is optional. It unlocks the deeper detail in Insights — your patterns over time and the fuller reading of the recovery map — and the home-screen widgets. It adds depth to what you can already see; it does not switch the App on.

6.2 No Free Trial

Unhooked does not offer free trials. There is no trial period and no introductory rate. When you buy a subscription or the lifetime purchase, you pay the full price at the time of purchase and the Pro features unlock straight away. The free tier stays free for as long as you use it, with no time limit and no card required.

6.3 Billing

We offer monthly and yearly subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn auto-renew off in your App Store or Google Play settings before the current period ends; the lifetime option is a one-time purchase that does not renew. Unhooked has no account of its own, so every part of billing — prices, taxes, refunds and renewals — is handled by the store you bought from.

6.4 Cancelling

You can cancel a subscription at any time in your device’s subscription settings. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and Pro stays unlocked until then. Afterwards the App keeps working — you drop back to the free tier with your whole record intact.

6.5 Restoring a purchase

Restore purchases in the App asks your store account what you own and unlocks it again. It works after a reinstall and on a new phone, without an account with us, because there is no account with us to have.

6.6 What stays free forever

Logging, your day count and streak, every milestone on the ladder, the phase ring, logging a slip and the comeback that follows it, the whole of SOS, and export and import are free forever — with no time limit, no account and no card. Safety is never behind a purchase, and neither is your own data.

7. Using the App properly

You agree to use the App lawfully. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, interfere with how it runs, or try to reach systems or services connected to it without permission.

8. Disclaimers and limits on liability

8.1 Availability

We work to keep the App reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, error-free or free of harmful components. Because the App runs entirely on your device, an outage on our side cannot take your data or your day count away.

8.2 No warranties

The App and the Website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant any particular outcome from using the App.

8.3 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including loss of on-device data — even if we were told such damages were possible. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Must Have Apps SIA and its officers, employees and agents against claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses arising from your use of the App or your breach of these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes are shown by the revision date above. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Latvia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
